If you’re a children’s book writer, you should be familiar with SCBWI. The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, or SCBWI, has loads of resources for new, aspiring, and established children’s book authors and illustrators. SCBWI is an international organization with over 80 regional chapters around the world. If you haven’t already, you may want to consider joining your local chapter of this excellent organization. SCBWI offers critique group opportunities (What! You’re not in a critique group?!), workshops, excellent regional and annual conferences, and other opportunities to interact with published authors, as well as editors and literary agents. It’s an invaluable place to learn more about writing for children and teens. Another bonus of joining SCBWI…you get to put it in your query letter, which will catch an agent’s eye and make us think, Ooo she’s serious!

For more about SCBWI and to find your regional chapter, check out their new website.

Happy writing!
