O.G. Rev (aka Reverend Harry Louis Williams II)
Reverend Harry Louis Williams, II, also known as O.G. Rev, is said to be the first clergy person ever to write gangsta fiction books for an inner city audience. Reverend Williams was born in New York City and raised in Asbury Park, NJ. In the early 80s, he became deeply involved in the then burgeoning hip-hop culture. He holds a B.A. degree from Kean University, Union, NJ. Williams has also earned a Master of Divinity diploma from Palmer Theological Seminary in Wayne, PA.
For the past 20 years, O.G. Rev has ministered in the merciless streets of East Oakland, CA. His mission field is comprised of the homeless, the forgotten, the gang impacted and people trapped in the snare of human trafficking. Today, O.G. Rev serves as the interim minister of Community Compassion at historic Glide Memorial Church in the San Francisco Tenderloin district. He is also a well respected community activist in the San Francisco Bay Area.
