Salima Appiah-Duffell has been writing since the third grade. She kept writing through high school and joined the student newspaper during undergrad at Tufts University. After college she covered music and culture for Venus Zine and DCist, a local culture blog. These days, she hones her craft through a local writing group who helped her remember how much she loves writing fiction. When she’s not writing, Salima spends most of her time with her two greatest loves: her job with Smithsonian Libraries and her family, which consists of wonderful husband John; hilarious toddler Mabel; and adorable cat Riker. She lives in DC’s Maryland suburbs.
