Asia Murphy is a writer of speculative fiction from Sacramento, California. She holds a PhD in Ecology, and when she’s not writing, you can find her studying interactions between species by collecting data from trail cameras. She’s published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and written for American Scientist, The Verge, The Conversation, Vice, and LiveScience.

Her adult science fantasy novel, Red Sun, follows a dying witch-hunter and a literally damned witch who must overcome religious conviction, an eldritch rainforest, and a thrice-killed priest to awaken a feral fire god and save the land from an alien bioweapon.
