Ellen Seal

About Ellen Seal

Ellen Seal is an author-illustrator raising three wildflower daughters in Richmond, Virginia. Her former jobs have always been art-centered, kid-centered, or a combination of the two. After receiving her BFA in Graphic Design from George Mason University, Ellen found herself working long hours creating junk mail and feeling utterly defeated. So she quit, sold everything, and joined the Peace Corps as a Youth Development volunteer. Her two years teaching English and Art in Costa Rica reconfirmed that she feels most fulfilled when she can use creativity to make a positive change. Now she writes for all kids, but mostly the weirdos who think a little differently. The kids who understand sarcasm and situational humor, or question social norms. She hopes to inspire all the little dreamers who need to feel seen.
