I was recently interviewed by an author I’d met several times at the Central Coast Writers Conference held in San Luis Obispo, California. He was struggling with advice I gave in one of my workshops and needed clarification.
Looking out over a sea of faces in a large auditorium I posited that every author should blog. I said that it played to an author’s strong suit because, after all, it was content creation…a fancy name for writing. I also said that it lubricated the author’s brain, got the author closer to achieving that magical “write something every day” goal, helped build an audience, and solidified an author’s brand. Plus it was free marketing. I also said a lot more.
Jason still was not convinced, even though he’d been blogging for years. He wrote a comprehensive guest blog post for the fabulous BookDesigner, Joel Friedlander, and I hope you all can find a few minutes to read it. He dissects the topic and offers phenomenal advice as well as things to think about before you plunge into the blogosphere.
