Soft Targets: On Guns in America and the Kids Caught in the Crossfire is graphic journalism unpacking the history of American gun culture and legislation from the founding to the present day to analyze how guns became the leading cause of death for children in the US. Included are the stories of kids from diverse backgrounds who have died from different forms of gun violence—those that get a lot of news coverage, like the Parkland massacre, and those that receive hardly any attention, like an unsecured handgun stored under a parent’s bed.
Publication is scheduled for Summer, 2026.
