Vicky Weber is a Literary Agent at Fuse Literary, representing picture books through adult fiction. She came to agenting from the author’s side, which shapes how she runs her list.
Before Fuse, Vicky started at The Purcell Agency in 2022, was promoted to agent in 2023. Most recently she was a literary agent and subsidiary rights manager at Creative Media Agency, where she handled audio, educational licensing, reprint, digital, and book club rights.
She is also a children’s author, a former PreK–5 music and STEAM teacher, and the founder of At Home Author, a coaching platform for aspiring kidlit writers. She’s ghostwritten more than 40 projects and writes adult fiction under a pen name. She lives outside Chicago with her family and an unreasonable number of horror audiobooks.
Vicky represents commercial fiction from board books through adult, with a taste for the standout and the slightly weird. She wants intensity on the page: plot-driven stories with deep characterization, high stakes, and characters who make her forget she’s reading for work.
Adult, New Adult, & Young Adult Fiction
Vicky is hungriest for thriller, suspense, and horror. Psychological tension where the scariest thing is what’s inside someone’s own head. Haunted houses, gothic horror with real psychological depth, maritime horror, and “social scary” that digs at collective unease. Anything comped to the Flanaverse will get her attention. She also wants dark and high fantasy, romantasy with tortured and broody heroes, horror-laced romance, mystery with a supernatural edge, and historical fiction that leans hard on the fiction (as in gothic, historical horror, historical suspense, lesser-known corners of the past).
Children’s
Middle grade should be weird, high-concept, and grounded in our world. In board books, picture books, and chapter books, she’s after highly giftable commercial fiction that’s funny but not punny: familiar storylines with a fresh angle, slightly offbeat characters that stick on first read, and text that leaves room for the art to carry its share.
