Christine Alemshah

Christine Alemshah (she/her) is a biracial Filipina-American children’s author and classically trained vocalist. She weaves children’s books that celebrate multiculturalism, spark wonder and curiosity, and often carry a musical vibe.  She hopes readers will see themselves in the stories she writes. Her debut picture book, Bea’s Balikbayan Box of Treasures, illustrated by Dream Chen, features a biracial Filipina-American girl as she cultivates a deeper connection with her family’s traditions (Free Spirit 2025). It won a Best Book Award for hardcover picture book fiction in 2025, was recognized as a 2026 CBC Librarians’ Favorite, and made the 2026 APALA Best of the Best Booklist.
