About Joey Coco Diaz

Born in Havana, Cuba and raised in North Bergen, NJ, Joey “Coco” Diaz has quickly become one of the most sought-after actors and comedians in the entertainment industry. His love of storytelling is reflected in each role he takes. Whether it is on film or on stage, his passion for entertaining and delighting audiences shines through every performance.

Diaz got his start in comedy while serving a short stint at a correctional facility in Denver, CO. “Each Wednesday we would watch movies, but sometimes the projector would break,” he shares, “so I would get up and do standup to fill the time.” He went on to be a regular at the world-famous Comedy Store in Hollywood and perform sold-out shows nationwide. His albums have hit #1 in comedy on iTunes and charted on the Billboard Top 100.

His film and television appearances are numerous, including My Name Is Earl, The Longest Yard, Spider-Man 2, Grudge Match, and The Many Saints of Newark.

As an early adopter of podcasts, he was one of the first and most frequent guests on The Joe Rogan Experience. His eight-year run with Lee Syatt on The Church of What’s Happening Now regularly produced chart-topping episodes. More recently, he was the host of Uncle Joey’s Joint with producer Michael Klein.

Now as an author, his debut memoir, Tremendous, is a New York Times bestseller.
