Meredith Mooring

Meredith Mooring is the author of the gothic space opera Redsight from Solaris Books, which was longlisted for the BSFA Award for Best Novel. Her work examines disability and sexual orientation through fiction, and she loves writing “what if” scenarios that explore science and history. She has a juris doctorate in law and owns her own practice focusing on employment and civil rights, with previous positions at the attorney general’s office and in a psychological research lab studying cognition and working memory. A blind woman who has owned three different guide dogs, Meredith lives in North Carolina with her family, her German Shepherd Sully, and lots of plants.

Redsight follows a blind priestess who powers warships for the galactic military by manipulating spacetime. When the captain of her ship is murdered by a pirate with a dark past, the priestess must choose between a painful life of service or a chance at freedom with the galaxy’s most wanted criminal.
