Amy Fitzgerald at Lerner/Carolrhoda has bought NoNieqa Ramos’s (The Disturbed Girl’s Dictionary, Hair Story, Your Mama, etc.) YA novel They Thought They Buried Us. Sixteen-year-old Yuiza, a proud queer Puerto Rican (Boricua) native of the Bronx, likes to make horror movies. They find themselves living in one when they’re sent to Our Lady Of Perpetual Mercy, an elite boarding school that holds sinister secrets. Publication is scheduled for fall 2024.
