Mike Dawson is the Eisner-nominated author of three books: Freddie & Me: A Coming-of-Age (Bohemian) Rhapsody, a memoir of his childhood obsession with Queen; Troop 142, a sordid tale of a New Jersey Boy Scout troop away on a weeklong summer camping trip; and Angie Bongiolatti, a story about sex, politics, and online learning in post-9/11 New York City.

Entertainment Weekly called Freddie & Me “undeniably contagious,” while the UK Daily Telegraphsaid it was “Charming, sincere and, above all, expressively drawn.” Troop 142 was nominated for multiple Ignatz Awards, including Best Graphic Novel, and was the winner in the Best Online Comic category.

He is also the author of a collection of short stories entitled Ace-Face: The Mod With the Metal Arms, and the comic essay collection Rules For Dating My Daughter. His comic essays are frequently published at The Nib, and have also appeared at Slate, The New Yorker, and The Comics Journal.

The former longtime co-host of The Ink Panthers Show! and TCJ Talkies podcasts, Mike currently co-hosts the Process Party Podcastwith fellow Fuse Literary cartoonist, Zack Soto.

He lives in suburban New Jersey with his wife and two children.
