In a seven-house auction, First Second acquired THE FIFTH QUARTER by Mike Dawson in a two-book deal. Pitched as Roller Girl meets Real Friends with a dash of Rip and Red, THE FIFTH QUARTER is a MG graphic novel series about identity, friendship, and self-esteem in the world of preteen girls’ basketball. The first book is scheduled for May 11, 2021; Gordon Warnock brokered the deal for world rights.
